Deidre, I too lived in Everleigh in 1963. We lived at Laburnam Cottage and I remember the bad winter that seemed to go on forever.

Hi all

Lived in Everleigh from around 1973 to 1983, I was 4 when we moved there. Dad worked for Caves as a mechanic (and has already posted on here) and we lived in a bungalow in West View. I can just about remember going to school in the village before it got shut down and we had to go to Upavon. Remember the butchers, VG (spar ?) shop, post office and the garage & greasy spoon (which is now a curryhouse ?). Famous for "discovering" a hidden well in the wood opposite the bus stop by the Crown by falling down it with John & Colin. Did it ever get covered over ?

Such fantastic memories of the place and would love to return there to live one day

Was fortunate enough to visit the Crown hotel pub before it shut .Glad to see it's re opened.Have friends who now live in Everleigh (after a lengthy house building project).All being well will be calling in sometime soon to have a drink or three.love the website espiecally the gallery.
