Everleigh Parish Council Meeting held at the
Crown Hotel on Monday 3rd March 2008.

The Chairman informed Members that he had written to the Post Master in Marlborough regarding the poor quality of service in the village but is yet
to receive a reply.
 
Planning.
New planning applications:
K/58003/F – Demolition of existing bungalow
and erection of a 2-storey dwelling at 2 West View Everleigh, SN8 3EY
Planning decisions:
K/57825/F – Refusal of permission to demolish
bungalow and construct new bungalow at 7 West View Everleigh, SN8
3EY. Applicant Mr Bradbury.
K/57836/F – Granting of full planning
permission for the demolition of existing pre-fabricated bungalow and
replacement with a new brick bungalow at 3 West View Everleigh SN8
3EY. Applicant Mr R Wills.
 
The Chairman briefed the Members on the outcome of a discussion that he had with a Kennet District Council Planning Officer, regarding the styles
and materials that might be most suitable to be used in further developments in the village.
 
Property: Having discussed at some length a proposal from Mr Jim Earl to purchase and remove the Bus Shelter, the Members resolved not to accept
the proposal, but to look at other options to reduce vandalism of the shelter and Anti Social Behaviour in and around the shelter, which might include
CCTV.
 
Councillor T Bradford reported that a very constructive meeting, involving the youth of the village, had taken place in January. The area has been
measured up with a view to making the best use of the land available.
Councillor K Wheeler-Mallows has volunteered to produce a draft layout that can be shown to the landowners who are very supportive.
 
Village Events:
Members resolved to hold a Village event similar to last year’s, on 5th or 19th July, and to hold a litter picking and Barbecue event on a date to be confirmed, but prior to the 5th July.
 
District Council: Kennet District Council has given authority for the Crown Hotel to be used as a Polling Station.
 
Meetings: The Annual Parish Meeting will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday 6th May in the Crown Hotel. This meeting will be followed by the Annual
Meeting of the Parish Council.
