Feedback from the Tidworth Area Board (TAB) meeting heldl 15th January 2011

  • Recycle Collection: The proposal to collect plastic and cardboard in addition to the current collection of bottles, cans and paper has been approved, but is subject to the outcome of the Comprehensive Spending Review by Wilts Council. Likely time frame for a decision/implementation: Late Summer this year.

  • Pot Holes & Grit Bin Refilling: Wilts Council are working hard on these 2 issues, but resources are limited and action will take time.

  • Proposed Housing Development – NE Quadrant Tidworth (Behind the RAM PH): Simmonds Homes have now purchased the land from the MoD. The previously approved planning application for 500 houses will be resubmitted for 600 houses. Drainage is an issue, but will be addressed. Timelines: Planning approval within the next 12 months; exhibition of the plans this Spring.

  • Wilts Police Authority Review: Wilts Police need to save £15m from an annual budget of £108m. Intent is to minimize the impact on front line services, including PCSOs, and to target administration and infrastructure costs.

  • Tedworth House: Planning on track to convert Tedworth House to a Regional Rehabilitation Centre for injured soldiers, by April 2012 with an interim capacity from May 2011. H4H take over the site on 1 Feb 11.

  • Community Area Awards: Due to take place on Wed 25 May 2011 at the Wellington Academy. Nominations will be invited shortly; an info pack is due to be issued to Parish Councils by mid Feb; nominations due by Mon 4 Apr.

  • Wellington Academy Rebuild: Plans on track. Due completion 26 Apr 11. 
  • Next TAB Meeting: Mon 21 Mar (Memorial Hall, Ludgershall). 7pm.
