“Your Community in 300 words” Free, Writing Competition

This October and November wfcap (The Wiltshire Forum of Community Area Partnerships) invite you to enter our free, writing competition for residents of Wiltshire.

The idea is to celebrate Wiltshire; its environment, heritage and the vibrant communities living there. As always we aim to promote the achievements of the Community Area Partnerships that we work with but we’re also asking other residents of Wiltshire to share their stories to a wider audience; to share hidden secrets of the county or to highlight local successes. Individuals and/or groups can submit entries.

There are 3 categories:

1. A report on a project that has benefited your community

2. Write about local folklore or history

3. A short article about your favourite place in Wiltshire

The entries can also include an image or drawing relevant to the article NOT taken from the internet but produced by the writer(s). 200 to 300 words is approximately what we are looking for but no more than one side of A4.

To register and receive the full rules and conditions on how to submit your entry email wfcapwritingcomp@gmail.com

Deadline is midnight on November 30th.

Judging will take place at our winter forum event on December 5th. Articles will be mainly judged on the story’s content. There will be small prizes for the winners but the aim is to use these articles in various media to promote the communities of Wiltshire.

So what are you waiting for! Register now and get writing.
