DESCRIPTION:Letter received from Wessex Water\nDate: Thursday 2 July 2026 (letter dated 25 June 2026 – please check the date on your copy as some letters may state 3 July) \nTime: 10:00am – 1:00pm \nWessex Water will be carrying out essential work on the water supply network in the Marlborough Road\, Everleigh (SN8 3EY) area. \nAlthough they aim to maintain a continuous water supply during the work\, there is a possibility that your water supply may be interrupted during this period. \nWhat to expect\n\nYour water supply may be temporarily interrupted between 10:00am and 1:00pm.\nWater may appear discoloured during and for up to 48 hours after the work. This can happen if air becomes trapped or pipes are disturbed.\nWessex Water should not need access to your property. If they do\, staff will carry identification.\n\nWhat you should do\n\nTurn off all taps before the work begins.\nIf you wish to store water for use during the interruption\, use clean containers and keep them in a cool place out of direct sunlight.\nIf your water becomes discoloured\, avoid using it for drinking or cooking until it clears.\nYou can continue to use most household appliances\, but Wessex Water recommends not using your washing machine until the water runs clear.\nTo clear discoloured water\, run your cold kitchen tap until the water clears. This essential work will help ensure improved water quality and a more reliable supply for years to come. \nAs part of our preparations\, we will be carrying out borehole window sampling at a number of locations along Marlborough Road to assess the ground conditions. \nHow will this work affect you? \nThe sampling is scheduled to begin on Monday 9 February and will last for four days. \nDue to the nature of the work\, a road closure will be in place during daytime working hours. However\, access will be maintained for residents\, emergency services\, and refuse collection vehicles from one end of the closure depending on where the work is located during the four days. \nThere may be some noise disruption while this work is carried\, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. \nYou can continue to use your water supply and sewerage services as normal unless we tell you otherwise. \nWhat should you do? \nYou don’t need to do anything\, but if you have any questions about our work\, please call 0345 600 4 600 or visit wessexwater.co.uk/contact-us \nIf you are a business or non-household property\, please contact your water retailer directly.
