Temporary Water Supply Interruption – Everleigh

Letter received from Wessex Water

Date: Thursday 2 July 2026 (letter dated 25 June 2026 – please check the date on your copy as some letters may state 3 July)

Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm

Wessex Water will be carrying out essential work on the water supply network in the Marlborough Road, Everleigh (SN8 3EY) area.

Although they aim to maintain a continuous water supply during the work, there is a possibility that your water supply may be interrupted during this period.

What to expect

• Your water supply may be temporarily interrupted between 10:00am and 1:00pm.
• Water may appear discoloured during and for up to 48 hours after the work. This can happen if air becomes trapped or pipes are disturbed.
• Wessex Water should not need access to your property. If they do, staff will carry identification.

What you should do

• Turn off all taps before the work begins.
• If you wish to store water for use during the interruption, use clean containers and keep them in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
• If your water becomes discoloured, avoid using it for drinking or cooking until it clears.
• You can continue to use most household appliances, but Wessex Water recommends not using your washing machine until the water runs clear.
• To clear discoloured water, run your cold kitchen tap until the water clears. In some cases this may take 30–40 minutes.

Water Meter Customers

If you are a household customer with a water meter and have had to run your tap to clear discoloured water, you may be able to claim a flushing allowance from Wessex Water.

Customers who are elderly, have a disability, ill health, mental illness or additional needs may be eligible for Wessex Water Priority Services, which can provide additional assistance during planned works or emergencies.
