How did it start ? Simple answer – the website started as a a pet project back in the early 2000’s to battle the boredom of redundancy!
Thanks to input from current and ex villagers, it seemed there was a load of information available but that wasn’t available online at the time.
The website content has grown now to include information from local organisations and local authorities, such as Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police, Local Neighbourhood Bulletins etc.
It is now a requirement that Parish and Town Councils distribute their information electronically, as well as the posting to local noticeboards etc – this is done, free of charge, for Everleigh Parish Council.
Who owns the website ? That’ll be me Simon @ Hightrees, or rather my little IT Company Hightrees Organisation Limited. As of 2024, clocking up 25 years in the Everleigh – doesn’t time fly ! Typically village websites these days are operated/run by the Parish Council (normally at some cost). I add all the Parish Council info as and when required so it saves them the time !
