As a result of COVID-19 Parliament has passed two new pieces of legislation relating to the holding of Parish Council meetings and the timelines for the approving of the Council’s Accounts for FY 19-20. The impact of the legislation is that there is no requirement to hold an Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, the Chairman remains in place until 6 May 2021, that meetings can be held remotely (e.g. via Zoom) if necessary to determine urgent and essential business (Para 19 Wilts Council Briefing Note No 20-14 dated 7 Apr 20) and that the date for the Accounts to be approved by the Parish Council moves from 30 June 2020 to 31 August 2020.
Everleigh Parish Council is keen to maintain as much transparency as possible and to that end the Parish Council intends to hold a meeting on Mon 22 Jun 20, subject to the Coronavirus situation. The agenda, supporting papers and details of how the public can take part will be published on this website in due course.
