You may have noticed the Road Closure signs but until today NO information has been available on what works were being undertaken.

WILTSHIRE COUNCIL
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
URGENT CLOSURE OF: A342 Andover Road, Upavon.
THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on 16th May 2016, the following length of road shall be closed to all traffic in the interests of public safety to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway repairs.
A342 Andover Road from its junctions with High Street, Upavon and A338.
Alternative Route:
Via A345 – A303 – A338 and vice versa.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The works will take place from 16th May 2016 for 2 days from 07:00am to 18:00pm. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions, the notice will have a maximum duration of 21 days. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
