Wiltshire Police News : Dog dies after eating unknown substance on Salisbury Plain

Dog walkers are being warned to take extra care following the death of a dog after it ate an unknown substance on Salisbury Plain yesterday afternoon, Thursday 23rd October.

The owner was walking their dog across the plain north of the A342 just outside Pewsey when it ate a small pile of blue pellets similar to slug pellets. The dog began fitting within minutes and unfortunately died later yesterday evening.

Samples of the substance have been sent off by the dogs veterinary surgery for analysis and the environment agency have been informed.
