Please find below details relating to the Community Impactive Crimes that have occurred between Monday 25th December and Sunday 31st December in the Trowbridge area.
Possession of Weapon 05/12/2023
Park Road – Male subject of stop search was found to be in possession of 2 knives and Class B drug.
46 year old male from Holt was arrested and has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
Burglary 30/12/2023
Seymour Road – Suspect has entered an address as a trespasser and has stolen a games console from within.
32 year old female from Semington has been arrested and has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
Traffic 28/12/2023
West Ashton Road – Vehicle stopped by police and male arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
29 year old male from Trowbridge has been arrested and has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
Traffic 31/12/2023
Toucan Street – Male driver of vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
35 year old male from Trowbridge was arrested and charged with ‘Failing to Provide a specimen for analysis’. He is due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates Court on the 2nd February 2024.
Other information to note
Two people have been charged with offences including Criminal Damage in Trowbridge town centre, during December.
Robert CAMPBELL, 39, of no fixed abode was charged with five offences of Criminal Damage and one count of Assault. He appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Tuesday (02/01) and has been released on bail until a further hearing on 14th March at the same court.
Louis BARNES-HUTCHINSON, 22, of Cloverfields, Langshott, Horley, was also arrested and charged with 20 offences including three counts of Theft from a motor vehicle, three counts of Criminal Damage, three counts of Burglary and 11 counts of Theft from a shop. He appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Wednesday (03/01) and was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.
Inspector Andy Lemon said “Since the start of December we have had 22 reported offences of Criminal Damage in Trowbridge Town Centre. 13 of those offences took place before the Christmas period, another 9 between Christmas and New Year.
We are still investigating reports of Criminal Damage, but I want to reassure residents and businesses that we will not tolerate this level of offending. I will be making sure that each and every offence is properly investigated, and the victim contacted by a local officer.”
Charges
Khalid CHERGUI, 43 year old male from Trowbridge was arrested on 1st January 2024 in relation to a theft by shoplifting. He was charged and remanded to appear before Salisbury Magistrates Court on the 2nd January. He was sentenced to 8 weeks imprisonment.
