Statutory notices published for uncontested town & parish council elections
The electoral statutory notices for the town & parish areas that are uncontested have now been published on the Wiltshire Council website.
Each of the uncontested areas will fall into one of these scenarios:
- The parishes are uncontested and have enough candidates to be quorum.
- Where no nominations were received the election will have to be re-run within 35 days from 6 May 2021 on an date to be decided by the Returning Officer. We will confirm the exact day as soon as possible.
- Some nominations were received but not enough to make the parish council quorate, so the election will have to be re-run to fill the vacant seats within 35 days from 6 May 2021, on a date to be decided by the Returning Officer. We will confirm the exact day as soon as possible. In this scenario, those individuals that had submitted valid nominations are elected unopposed.
- No nominations were received by some parish wards, but there were nominations in the other wards that make up that parish council to be quorate, and therefore the unfilled seats can be filled by co-option by the new Parish Council.
