One thing that people might find useful is the mobile phone app What3Words, the free mobile app divides the world into small squares measuring approximately 3 metres by 3 metres, with each square given a unique three-word reference.
Most UK police, ambulance and fire control rooms can accept a what3words location, especially when an emergency happens somewhere without a clear address, such as a field, campsite, festival site, woodland or remote road.
