I am Anita Wilson Harris (nee Potter) My father Alec Potter, lived in Everleigh at 3 High Trees, until he moved to Wilton, for health reasons.
I am writing to ask if you could please put a notice that he has sadly passed away, at 81 with brief illness complications, many people knew my father in the village and drank in The Crown with him, hearing many tales of village life, he looked after many residents gardens including The Crown.
He was born in Imber in 1928, living in and around the area for many years, he was captain for the cricket team in his younger years, his parents worked for the Whistler family, contact me, so that I may put a notice for funeral service, so people may attend if they wish, thank you.
Update – 18th July Alec Potter, sadly passed away peacefully at SDH. 10/07/2010. Aged 81.
Funeral to be held at Collingbourne Ducis on 26th July 2010, at 11am, followed by burial service. at St Peters Church, Everliegh, Family Flowers only, but donations to The Kidney Research Uk, C/O Chris White, 12 South Street, Wilton, SP2 0JS.

Alec was one of the first neighbours I met when I moved to Everleigh and it was a pleasure getting to know him and the escapades he got up to in his younger days. He was a font of knowledge for all things relating to gardening and local history and was already for a chat and a quick half of bitter.
