Community Area Grants.
I am urging all the nine Parish Councils in my Division of Wiltshire Council to consider making use of the Community Area Grants scheme.
Tidworth Area Board has up to £27,000 available until 31st March for Community Area Grants. If applications are not made during that period, the opportunity to receive a Grant in the current year will be lost. It is also worth making an early application because of the ‘lead time’ required for such projects, and to avoid other applicants using up all the money which is available this year. So the advice is, if you wish to make a grant application, do it as soon as possible.
Applications are invited from community or voluntary groups as well as from parish and town councils. Brief details of the scheme are as follows:
Up to £5000 is available for your community project.
Funding linked to local priorities.
Simple application process. Application online preferred.
Up to £1000 may be available for small projects, with no requirement for matched funding.
Up to 50% of the total cost of a project where the total cost of a project is more than £1000.
Examples of projects which may qualify for grants are:
Curtains and other equipment for village halls.
Equipment for village clubs, e.g. drama clubs, young people and older people groups.
Larger refurbishments of village halls etc
Parish notice boards.
Sports equipment such as goal posts.
I would be happy to assist in the application process on request.
