SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF C53 MARLBOROUGH ROAD/ EVERLEIGH ROAD,
EVERLEIGH, COLLINGBOURNE KINGSTON AND PEWSEY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close
temporarily to all traffic:
(a) C53 Marlborough Road, Everleigh and Collingbourne Kingston; from its junction with
A342 (Everleigh) for a distance of approximately 3850 metres in a north-westerly direction to
a point adjacent entrance to Hills Waste Transfer Site.
Alternative Route Via: A342 (Everleigh to Upavon) – A345 (Upavon to Pewsey) – C53 Swan
Road – C53 Everleigh Road and vice versa.
(b) C53 Everleigh Road, Pewsey; from a point adjacent entrance to Hills Waste Transfer Site
for a distance of approximately 3200 metres in a north-westerly direction to its junction with
C53 Swan Road/UC Green Drove, Pewsey.
Alternative Route Via: C53 Marlborough Road, Everleigh – A342 (Everleigh to Upavon) –
A345 (Upavon to Pewsey) – C53 Swan Road, Pewsey and vice versa.
(c) C53 Marlborough Road/ Everleigh Road, Everleigh, Collingbourne Ducis and Pewsey; for
its complete length from A342 Everleigh to C53 Swan Road/Green Drove, Pewsey.
Alternative Route Via: A342 (Everleigh to Upavon) – A345 (Upavon to Pewsey).
Wiltshire Council to carry out preparatory patching, carriageway repairs, final resurfacing and
adjustment of ironwork.
The closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period.
This Order will come into force on Wednesday 29th June 2011 with
part (a) operating between the hours 9.30am – 3.30pm on Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th June and Friday 1st July.
Part (b) will operate at NIGHT ONLY between the hours of 7.00pm on Monday 4th July
to 7.00am on Tuesday 5th July and during the same hours on 5/6th, 6/7th, 7/8th and 8/9th July (five nights).
Part (c) will operate between the hours of 7.00am – 7.00pm daily on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July 2011.
It is anticipated that the works will take 2 weeks to complete. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
